Condensing all the sex and violence from a ninety minute film into a three minute trailer (coming at traction) with artistry, imagination, and a sense of humor often creates a new entity entertaining unto itself. The trailer is invariably better than the picture it represents. The Best of Sex and Violence compresses all the entertaining elements from forty of the most lurid features of the last decade into one exploitation extravaganza - the ultimate orgy of sex and violence - a non-stop cavalcade of terrific trailers. THE BEST OF SEX AND VIOLENCE is a mini-marathon of teasing tits and asses, stimulation for the masses, kung fu killers and samurai thrillers, jive blacks, maniac attacks, power packed punches, a monster that crunches, car crashes and sex bashes, women in chains, bikers without brains, machine gun mamas and death-defying dramas. Every area of exploitation is represented. The various categories are organized and interspersed with hilarious live action commentary by our resident sociological expert John Carradine, himself a living icon of exploitation films. The cumulative effect of such condensed mayhem creates a bombardment of the senses that must be seen to be believed!

  • Christopher Lee - Legacy Of Horror And Terror (DVD)

Sir Christopher Lee is perhaps the only actor of his generation to have starred in almost 300 films. Mr. Lee began his legendary career in horror movies in the 1950s. He gained fame playing a variety of villains and creatures, among them Frankenstein's Monster, the Mummy and Dracula, the latter in several uncontestable classics of the genre. Mr. Lee's first legendary Hammer film was "The Curse of Frankenstein" (1957) and the following year he made his first of many appearances as Dracula in "Horror of Dracula." Later, he reprised his role as the legendary vampire as well as headlining dozens of other Hammer productions. He starred in nearly 50 horror films from 1956 to 1976, often reprising the character of Dracula. Memorable horror films of this era include "Corridors of Blood," "The Two Faces of Doctor Jekyll," "Dracula-Prince of Darkness" and "Taste the Blood of Dracula." His roles as Fu Manchu, Sherlock Holmes, Scaramanga in the James Bond film "The Man with the Golden Gun," and Rochefort in both "The Three Musketeers," and "The Four Musketeers: Milady's Revenge," have all contributed to his legendary status as one of the greatest actors of all time. In addition, Mr. Lee has recently become known to a whole new generation of filmgoers as Saruman in Peter Jackson's "The Lord of the Rings" franchise and as Count Dooku in the "Star Wars" prequels. Christopher Lee was born in London in 1922 to one of the oldest families in Europe. He attended Eton College and Wellington College, where he studied Greek and Latin. During World War II, he served in the Royal Air Force and Special Forces and was decorated for distinguished service. Mr. Lee was knighted by the Queen in 2009 for services to drama and charity. This rare interview is a tribute to his long standing contribution to the cinematic arts.

It has been called "seriously creepy" (CoolAssCinema.com), "insanely violent" (Nerdist.com) and "truly repulsive" (DVD Talk). It was seized by UK authorities as a 'Video Nasty' and accused of being an actual snuff film. Yet even by '80s Italian gore-spewing standards, this grueling shocker from sex & sleaze maestro Joe D'Amato (BEYOND THE DARKNESS) still stands as perhaps the most controversial - and extreme - spaghetti splatter epic of them all. Tisa Farrow (ZOMBIE), Zora Kerova (CANNIBAL FEROX) and co-writer/producer George Eastman (STAGE FRIGHT, 1990: BRONX WARRIORS) star in this depraved daddy of cannibal carnage from "Italy's King of Trash Sinema" (Horrorpedia.com), now featuring a 2k scan from the original 16mm negative - including two of the most gut-retching scenes in horror history.

UNCUT & COMPLETE for the first time! Every year young people disappear...An eerie and deserted wax museum, SLAUSEN'S LOST OASIS, is the site for spine-tingling terror where four unsuspecting young travelers (Including TANYA ROBERTS from "Charlie's Angels") are lured into a very deadly "TOURIST TRAP." Slausen (CHUCK CONNORS) is the reclusive and bizarre owner of this attraction, which is actually more like a macabre chamber of horrors. The grotesque and frightening mannequins in this sordid side-show are only the beginning of the murderous mayhem and nightmarish madness to come. TOURIST TRAP is widely recognized as one of the scariest and strangest horror movies of the 1970s, a film championed by none other than Stephen King as wielding "an eerie, spooky power". Legendary actor Chuck Connors (THE RIFLEMAN, WEREWOLF) stars as Mr. Slausen, a telekinetic psychopath who lures a group of young people to his ramshackle roadside attraction, unleashing an army of psychically controlled mannequins and other monstrosities upon them.

  • Death Has Blue Eyes (Blu-Ray)

Death Has Blue Eyes is a gripping paranormal action thriller with shades of giallo from the director of the cult classic video nasty Island of Death (1976).

When local gigolo Chess (Chris Nomikos) greets his vacationing friend Bob Kovalski (Peter Winter) at Athens airport, the pair embark on a string of scams and erotic dalliances that eventually lead them into contact with an elegant wealthy woman, Geraldine Steinwetz (Jessica Dublin), and her glamorous daughter Christine (Maria Aliferi). Geraldine blackmails the two cheeky bachelor boys into acting as bodyguards for Christine, whom it transpires has telepathic abilities and has had her eye on them for some time. After fleeing from a series of assassination attempts, it soon becomes clear that Geraldine herself might not be quite whom she seems, as the two young men find themselves caught up in a political conspiracy of international dimensions.

In his debut feature, maverick filmmaker Nico Mastorakis presents us with a generous meze of non-stop car, bike and helicopter chases, a bevy of beautiful girls with guns, sensational softcore sex scenes, psychic thrills and Cold War political intrigue set against the picturesque landscapes of 70s Greece, all presented for the very first time in a new HD master in both widescreen and full-frame versions.

  • The Bird With The Crystal Plumage [UHD Limited Edition]

In 1970, young first-time director Dario Argento (Deep Red, Suspiria) made his indelible mark on Italian cinema with The Bird with the Crystal Plumage - a film which redefined the 'giallo' genre of murder-mystery thrillers and catapulted him to international stardom.  Sam Dalmas (Tony Musante, We Own the Night), an American writer living in Rome, inadvertently witnesses a brutal attack on a woman (Eva Renzi, Funeral in Berlin) in a modern art gallery. Powerless to help, he grows increasingly obsessed with the incident. Convinced that something he saw that night holds the key to identifying the maniac terrorizing Rome, he launches his own investigation parallel to that of the police, heedless of the danger to both himself and his girlfriend Giulia (Suzy Kendall, Spasmo)...  A staggeringly assured debut, The Bird with the Crystal Plumage establishes the key traits that would define Argento's filmography, including lavish visuals and a flare for wildly inventive, brutal scenes of violence. With sumptuous cinematography by Vittorio Storaro (Apocalypse Now) and a seductive score by legendary composer Ennio Morricone (Once Upon a Time in the West), this landmark film has never looked or sounded better in this brand new 4K Ultra HD presentation from Arrow Video!

  • An American Werewolf In London: Standard Edition (Blu-Ray)

One of the greatest directors of the 1980s, John Landis (The Blues Brothers, Trading Places), expertly combines macabre horror with dark humor in the lycanthropic classic, An American Werewolf in London.  American tourists David (David Naughton) and Jack (Griffin Dunne) are savaged by an unidentified vicious animal whilst hiking on the Yorkshire Moors. David awakes in a London hospital to find his friend dead and his life in disarray. • The Sergio Martino Collection (Blu-Ray)

Collecting three of the finest giallo thrillers from legendary filmmaker Sergio Martino

One of Italian cinema's most celebrated and prolific filmmakers, Sergio Martino worked across a range of genres, but is arguably best known for his giallo thrillers. This collection brings together three of his finest. In The Case of the Scorpion's Tail, recently widowed Lisa Baumer is summoned to Athens to collect her husband's generous life insurance policy, but soon discovers others are willing to kill to get their hands on it. In the Edgar Allan Poe-inspired Your Vice is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key, abrasive drunk Oliviero amuses himself by holding drunken orgies and abusing his long-suffering wife... but when a series of grisly murders shakes the local community, Oliviero finds himself in the frame. Finally, The Suspicious Death of a Minor combines giallo and crime thriller tropes as undercover cop Paolo pursues the Milanese criminal outfit responsible for the brutal murder of an underage prostitute, but finds himself up against a killer-for-hire who's bumping off witnesses before they have a chance to talk. Featuring sensational casts of genre stalwarts, including Edwige Fenech, George Hilton, Anita Strindberg and Luigi Pistilli, with scripts by giallo master Ernesto Gastaldi and sensuous scores by maestro Bruno Nicolai, this is an essential collection for any Italian cult cinema fan.

  • Jess Franco's Angel Of Death (Blu-Ray)

From the fevered mind of the notorious Jess Franco (BARBED WIRE DOLLS) comes 1987's ANGEL OF DEATH (aka COMMANDO MENGELE), a deranged free-fall into "Nazisploitaion" that takes its cues from the blockbuster 1978 shocker THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL and delivers the sort of delirium that fans of French genre film studio Eurocine hunger for! When an attractive pair of young Nazi hunters exploring Uruguay accidentally stumble upon the lair of the maniacal war criminal Dr. Josef Mengele, they immediately live to regret it. There, deep in the sweltering jungles, Mengele has continued his hideous human experiments, torturing, murdering and mutilating nubile virgins in the name of creating some sort of master race. Soon, mercenaries, monstrosities, femme fatales and vengeful concentration camp survivors face off, with bullets and bodies flying everywhere and Mengele holding cretinous court. Written by (under the name D. Khunn) and co-directed by Franco and completed by Italian trash movie maverick Andrea Bianchi (BURIAL GROUND: NIGHTS OF TERROR), the pair signed off on the film as "Frank Drew White", apparently too nervous to take credit for making this truly daft piece of unsavory exploitation. ANGEL OF DEATH is a fast-paced slice of vintage Eurocine mayhem, with an international cast that includes Franco regulars Jack Taylor, Antonio Mayans and Howard Vernon (as Mengele) along with Robert Mitchum's son Christopher and Shirley Knight from Franco's equally insane WHITE CANNIBAL QUEEN. Jump into the jungle with Jess and get ready for some prime cinematic insanity! Get ready for ANGEL OF DEATH, presented here in a beautiful, uncut master culled from the original 35mm camera negative.

  • Basket Case [Limited Edition Blu-ray]

The feature debut of director Frank Henenlotter (Brain Damage, Frankenhooker), 1982's Basket Case is perhaps his most revered - a riotous and blood-spattered midnight movie experience, now immortalized in a lavish new 4K restoration by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

Duane Bradley is a pretty ordinary guy. His formerly conjoined twin Belial, on the other hand, is a deformed, fleshy lump whom he carries around in a wicker basket. Arriving in the Big Apple and taking up a room at the seedy Hotel Broslin, the pair set about hunting down and butchering the surgeons responsible for their separation. But tensions flare up when Duane starts spending time with a pretty blonde secretary, and Belial's homicidal tendencies reach bloody new extremes.

Filmed on a shoestring budget against the backdrop of 1980s New York (where the movie would become a staple of the infamous 42nd Street grindhouse circuit), Basket Case has clawed its way from its humble origins to become one of the most celebrated cult movies of all time.

Helen Hewitt has inherited her recently deceased Aunt Catherines humongous country villa. After arriving at their new home, she and her husband Bob immediately feel a sense of unease and hostility from the estates staff and tenants, all of whom do their best to make the young couple feel unwelcome. As strange and increasingly sinister events begin to take place around her, Helen becomes determined to uncover the truth about the goings on, and slowly begins to unearth the horrifying and unspeakable evil occurring at the mysterious mansion

One of a handful of films that acclaimed Spanish horror and exploitation auteur, Jos Ramn Larraz, made primarily for the American market, REST IN PIECES plays like a refined piece of Euro-horror as filtered through the trashy mindset of late 80s, direct-to-video trash. Pleasantly grotesque (the gore effects earned a 1987 Goya Award nomination) and with a wry sense of self-aware humor, REST IN PIECES co-stars Dorothy Malone (The Big Sleep, Basic Instinct), Jack Taylor (Conan the Barbarian), and Patty Shepard (My Dear Killer). Never before released on disc, Vinegar Syndrome is delighted to present REST IN PIECES on Blu-ray in a new 4K restoration of its 35mm camera negative.

A fiendishly perverse blend of sleazy sex and gory violence written and directed by Carlos Puerto, with some uncredited assistance from producer and Spanish horror auteur Juan Piquer Simn (Pieces), SATANS BLOOD (originally titled Escalofro, meaning chills') is one of the highlights of late 70s Spanish exploitation cinema. Starring Duane Jones (Night Of The Living Dead) & Marlene Clark (Midnight Cowboy, Enter The Dragon) as the leading roles.

Ganja & Hess was honored as one of the ten best American films of its decade by the Cannes Film Festival but was barely distributed to American audiences. Commissioned at a time when ‘blaxploitation’ movies like ‘Shaft’ played as blockbusters in African American neighborhoods, it was suppressed in the United States because it did not turn out to be the Hollywood genre film the producers intended, so Ganja & Hess was withdrawn when Gunn went beyond the vampire genre and turned in an original product.

The original cut was donated to the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) whose restoration work & screenings helped build the film’s reputation as a neglected classic of independent African American cinema. The restored version later received a superior DVD & Blu Ray release through Kino Lorber and in 2014 the film was remade by Spike Lee as ‘Da Sweet Blood of Jesus’.

The soundtrack to this exceptional film was composed Sam Waymon, a creative legend who has contributed to local, national and world culture. Born in North Carolina, Sam Waymon began his musical odyssey playing along with his sister, Eunice. His sister left North Carolina in the ’50s and traveled north to pursue her career. Along the way she
dropped her given name and became one of music’s most influential and independent musicians, known as Nina Simone.

Sam performed with and wrote music for his sister for over ten years but finally broke away to develop a style of his own that combines gospel, R&B, blues and jazz. Sam went on to record for record labels like: RCA, Polygram, and his own label Resolution records. He has worked side by side with legendary artists such as Miles Davis, Donnie Hathaway, Roberta Flack, The 5th dimension, and the list goes on and on.

Even more haunting than the film is its music, Sam Waymon created an innovative, ahead-of-its-time mixture of soul, tribal chants, gospel and trippy, dissonant experimental cues that makes for the strangest score for a vampire film.
