Army of the Dead Original Soundtrack LP

Tom Holkenborg is a Dutch composer, multi-instrumentalist, DJ, producer, and audio engineer. He has worked with Hans Zimmer and his company Remote Control Productions on Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, as well as composing the scores for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, Tomb Raider, Terminator: Dark Fate, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Godzilla vs. Kong.

Waxwork Records is thrilled to present the score music to ARMY OF THE DEAD as a deluxe double LP album featuring never before seen interactive packaging with new artwork and design by Oliver Barrett. Listeners must tear open the screaming visage of Zeus, the film’s zombie leader, to reveal a locked vault door. The packaging then expands into a neon pink and yellow soaked triple gatefold which unlocks the vault to reveal a horde of Las Vegas zombies inside. As the listener continues opening the album packaging, and all zombies are killed, you’ll be greeted by Valentine, the film’s beloved (and first ever?) zombie tiger!

The score has been pressed to 180 gram neon pink and yellow vinyl and the album features exclusive liner notes by director Zack Snyder.

  • Halloween Kills Original Soundrack LP

    Charred pumpkin black vinyl edition

In 2018, David Gordon Green's Halloween, starring icon Jamie Lee Curtis, slaughtered the box office, earning more than $250 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing chapter in the four-decade franchise and setting a new record for the biggest opening weekend in history for a horror film starring a woman. The film had the distinction of being the first film in the series with creator John Carpenter's  direct involvement since 1982's Halloween III: Season of the Witch. Carpenter served as an executive producer, a creative consultant, and, thrillingly, as a soundtrack composer, alongside his collaborators from his recent solo albums, Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies.  Now the scream team is back for the highly anticipated follow up, Halloween Kills and Carpenter has returned to the studio with son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies to further expand on the iconic score that forever changed the course of horror cinema and synthesizer music.

The 2018 Halloween movie soundtrack received unanimous praise and brought a rich and ominous depth to the original theme music that was famously recorded on a shoestring budget in 1978. The trio utilized an array of software synths, vintage analogue equipment, and live instrumentation including a Dave Smith OB-6, bowed guitar, Roland Juno, Moog, Roland System 1, Roland System 8, different guitar pedals, mellotron, and piano. Now with the Halloween Kills score director Green has pushed the musicians to be more experimental and take their modern sound to a chilling new level. Standout tracks like "Unkillable" and "Rampage" feature skittering synths over deep four on the floor bass that create a full psychosis of dread before the guitars smash into the song like a semi creating a confusion over whether to headbang, dance, or run for you life. More tragic songs like "Michael's Legend" and "Strode's at the Hospital" showcase exquisite and delicate piano playing and prove the range of orchestration this team is capable of executing with mastery and vision. Like all of Carpenter's legendary soundtracks Halloween Kills features incredible standalone music that like their Lost Themes trilogy of music made for imaginary films can be enjoyed thoroughly with or without the context of the film.

  • Inseminoid: Original Soundtrack LP

BLACK VINYL. INSEMINOID was directed by British filmmaker Norman J. Warren, known primarily for a series of late '70s-'80s horror films and produced by Richard Gordon, known for a variety of films but specializing in horror movies such as THE HAUNTED STRANGLER, FIEND WITHOUT A FACE. Warren shot the film during May and June 1980, with a £1 million budget, half of which was financed by Hong Kong's Shaw Brothers (their first investment in a British film).

To compose the film's score, Warren brought in distinguished orchestral composer John Scott, who by 1981 had composed wide-ranging scores for some 86 films and television series. Scott's efforts in the genre have included films such as TROG, MARK OF THE DEVIL PART II, THE PEOPLE THAT TIME FORGOT, and the magnificent score for 1980's time-travel film, THE FINAL COUNTDOWN (along with GREYSTOKE, KING KONG LIVES, THE WICKER TREE amongst the 70 scores subsequent to INSEMINOID).

Warren and Scott had worked together previously on his film, SATAN'S SLAVE.  When it came to their next collaboration, INSEMINOID, using even a small orchestra was beyond the budget; leaving electronics as the only viable means. In the process, Scott made use of synthesized rock-and-roll elements (low basso structures, electronic drums, and in particular a recurring, 8-note motif shared between electric guitar and synths, most notably in the main titles and end credits, mixed over a variegated abundance of synthetic substances. As the mixing of the electronic score took shape, enhanced by many hours of multi-tracking and overdubbing, Scott was aided in recording the score by the Pinewood Studios music mixer Otto Snel.

  • Mad Doctor of Blood Island Original Soundtrack LP

As head of Publicity at Hemisphere Pictures and then founder of Independent-International Pictures Corp., Sam Sherman is truly one of the godfathers of the drive-in/grindhouse/horror/B-movie genre. We at Real Gone Music have teamed with Sam to release his favorite scores from his long and illustrious career in film production, each sporting rare publicity stills and a personal note from the man himself. Filipino composer Tito Arevalo's score to the 1969 film Mad Doctor of Blood Island was so good that it was used twice more, once in Beast of Blood, the 1970 finale to Hemisphere Pictures' Blood Island franchise, and again in Brain of Blood, which producer Sherman made with director Al Adamson in 1971! But this was the original and the best, utilizing a full orchestra to inspired effect, particularly on the 'Dance' sequences, which virtually invent the genre 'horror exotica.' Not only have we added as a bonus the truly unhinged radio spot that advertised Mad Doctor of Blood Island, but also the record closes with the 'Oath of Green Blood Intro' to the film, which advised audiences to drink the green 'blood' potion that was distributed as a gimmick before screenings of the movie. Also includes an LP-sized insert featuring the lurid front cover illustration.

  • The Bird With The Crystal Plumage Original Soundtrack LP

Fanatics of ’70s Italian giallos take note…

Behold a veritable smorgasbord of sounds that is Ennio Morricone’s score to Dario Argento’s debut film, THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE (a.k.a. L’uccello dalle piume di cristallo) from 1970.

Considered one of the genre’s gold standards, Maestro Morricone’s stunning sonic work is a masterful accompaniment to the knife-wielding images on the screen. This colorful (yet dark) score features il Maestro’s trademark scat vocal harmonies, beautiful melodies, and mandatory sinister themes – perfect musica for this wonderfully stylistic giallo masterpiece.

The first of Argento’s “animal trilogy” series, the music on THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE is a lovely mix of string-infused bossa, to tenser and instrumentally sparse passages that Morricone does so well.

Just be sure to handle the piumaggio cristallino with care… we suggest wearing your black gloves.

  • Bram Stoker's Dracula Original Soundtrack LP

Deep in the Carpathian Mountains, in the country of Transylvania, lies the castle of one who would have domain over all evil on Earth … and with that blood and the fury comes the captivating and hypnotic music of BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA. Directed by cinema legend Francis Ford Coppola, the film looks back to the original 1897 text for a unique, blood-soaked vision. For the score, Coppola picked the great Polish composer Wojciech Kilar, whose brooding themes and dark choral textures have become the standard for the music of vampiric cinema. Working with Coppola’s vision of the film as a tragic love story, Kilar conjured up a heartbreakingly beautiful, yet violent, tone poem that exquisitely encapsulates the darkness and passion of Stoker’s classic narrative. However, love never dies, and neither does great music.

  • The Human Centipede Original Soundtrack LP

The soundtrack of one of the most sinister, disturbing, controversial and original horror films of the last twenty years is finally available on a physical format!

“The Human Centipede” is a film conceived, produced and directed by Dutch director Tom Six, which tells the story of the wicked Doctor Heiter, a manic German surgeon who kidnaps three people with the aim of surgically sewing them together to form a ‘human centipede’. This release contains the music of the first film of “The Human Centipede” series, conceived right from the start as a trilogy that began in 2009 with a ‘First Sequence’ and followed in 2011 and 2015 respectively by the ‘Full’ and ‘Final sequence’.

  • Psycho Goreman Original Soundtrack LP

“Waxwork Records is thrilled to present PG: PSYCHO GOREMAN Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Blitz//Berlin. PG: PSYCHO GOREMAN is a 2021 Canadian Science Fiction horror comedy film written and directed by Steven Kostanski. It tells the story of a young sister and brother who unwittingly resurrect an ancient extraterrestrial overlord. The movie taps into late 80’s and early 90’s nostalgia by combining kid-friendly adventures and over the top practical effects. Goreman cleverly blends the horror and fantasy genres with a healthy dose of neon-soaked visuals. The film is incredibly unique while remaining familiar with comparisons being drawn from such classics as Terminator 2: Judgement Day, The Gate, the 1990’s live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films, Power Rangers, and Masters of the Universe.

Siblings Mimi (Nita-Josee Hanna) and Luke (Owen Myer) couldn’t be any closer. They spend nearly every waking moment together, getting muddy and playing their made-up game “Crazy Ball”. It probably helps that Mimi is bossy and domineering. The fearless tomboy steamrolls just about every family member with her assertive personality, especially dad, Greg (Astron-6 member Adam Brooks). During a particularly grueling game of Crazy Ball in the backyard, the siblings uncover a strange gem that awakens an evil intergalactic conqueror. The being, which the siblings’ dub PG: Psycho Goreman, is eager to assemble his former team of evildoers and continue their path of destruction, while the benevolent rulers that locked him away in the first place race to stop him once and for all.

The soundtrack by Blitz//Berlin is a wild, thematic ride that features introduction narration, bombastic orchestral cues, lush synth-wave, 80’s inspired big-hair pop-rock power ballads, distorted guitars and enormous percussion.

Blitz//Berlin is a Canadian trio of composers based in Los Angeles, California. Born and raised in Victoria BC, high school friends Martin Macphail, Dean Rode, and Tristan Tarr began their film composing career in Toronto, Canada in 2014. Additionally, their trailer work includes Fifty Shades Darker, The Girl in the Spider’s Web, and Bird Box.

  • Come True Original Soundtrack LP

Waxwork Records is proud to present COME TRUE Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Electric Youth and Pilotpriest. COME TRUE is a 2021 science-fiction horror film written and directed by Anthony Scott Burns. The film follows the story of a high school student, Sarah, who is at her lowest point yet when she runs away from home and finds herself with no one to rely on and struggling with recurring nightmares. She chances upon a university sleep study that offers the promise of safety and money and brings her an unexpected friend and confidant in the overseeing scientist Jeremy. But there’s something curious about proceedings and being under observation seems to make Sarah’s disturbing dreams even worse. As the darkness begins to close in, it’s soon clear that Sarah has unknowingly become the conduit to a horrifying, new discovery…

Inspired by the work of Nicolas Roeg, William Friedkin, Stanley Kubrick, and David Cronenberg, as well as sleep studies conducted by Berkeley University, COME TRUE seeks to ask what would happen if we could see other people’s dreams? What would we see? What would we discover about ourselves? What if these shadows from our collective dreams saw us looking back at them?

The music of COME TRUE was composed by celebrated synth-pop duo Electric Youth and electronic artist Pilotpriest and encapsulates a dark, dreamworld landscape that carries viewers across the journey of the film with pulsing urgency.

ELECTRIC YOUTH is a Toronto-based duo consisting of Bronwyn Griffin (vocals, songwriter) and Austin Garrick (producer, songwriter, synthesizer, drums). Their initial breakthrough came in 2011 when their song “A Real Hero” was prominently featured in the movie DRIVE and went on to be nominated for a 2012 MTV Movie Award in the category of “Best Music” and was named one of the 20 Best Songs of 2011 by Rolling Stone. Their second studio album “Memory Emotion” was released in 2019.

  • Alice, Sweet Alice Original Soundtrack LP

Waxwork Records is thrilled to present the debut release of ALICE, SWEET ALICE Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Stephen Lawrence. Alice, Sweet Alice is a 1976 American Slasher-Horror film directed by Alfred Sole and starring Brooke Shields in her film debut. Set in 1961 New Jersey, the film focuses on a troubled adolescent girl who becomes the suspect in the brutal murder of her younger sister at her first communion, as well as in a series of unsolved stabbings that follow.

In the years since its release, Alice, Sweet Alice has gained a cult following and is considered a contemporary classic of the slasher sub-genre in critical circles. It has also been the focus of scholarship in the areas of horror film studies, particularly regarding its depictions of Roman Catholicism, child emotional neglect, and the disintegration of the American nuclear family.

The film’s chilling score was composed by Stephen Lawrence. Lawrence is an American composer that has scored more than 300 songs and musical cues for Sesame Street, resulting in three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition. The music of Alice, Sweet Alice features heavy usage of dissonant strings, repetitive keys, church organ, and motifs that segue from eerily mischievous and playful to dread-inducing and utterly haunting.

Ship to Shore Phono Co. is proud to announce the physical release of Fried Barry: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Haezer!

Former film editor and now DJ & music producer Haezer taps into a parallel universe where Boards Of Canada melded with Brian Eno and produced nothing but Darkwave ambient nightmares with this score to the trippy South African comedy-horror sci-fi movie Fried Barry, a motion picture that achieved much critical acclaim on its recent festival run.

Fried Barry sees our titular character – a drug addict and ne’er-do-well – abducted and used as a living avatar for an alien being intent on going on a joyride through Cape Town to learn about the human experience.

Haezer’s score becomes the beating heart of the film and is stuffed with enough bass pulses, electronic soundscapes and nerve-scraping string motifs to satiate any fan of dark ambient, film scores or experimental electronic music.

  • Non Ho Sonno Original Soundtrack LP

After a lengthy silence, Goblin reunited in 2000, again for a soundtrack for their long-time friend Dario Argento. As a matter of fact, “NonHoSonno” (sleepless) will be the last record made by the original line-up, and for many fans this is one of their best works, if not THE best ever.

Of course the original sound of the band is filtered by a more modern production, and the band focuses on symphonic synths and rather heavy guitar work. Surprisingly enough this soundtrack works great even as a stand-alone record. Songs are catchy and there are no weak moments, that are pretty normal for traditional soundtracks. An amazing and outstanding comeback!

Still this is the Goblin we love: heavy, doomy, creepy and dark!

In exchange for Dario Argento’s help on Dawn of the Dead, George Romero allowed Argento to release a different (more explicit) cut of the movie in Europe. This version was called “Zombi”. Instead of the library music score that Romero had used, Argento enlisted the help of his pals Goblin to record a new soundtrack. The result is a brilliant score; menacing, thrilling and totally suited to the movie. There’s even a sleazy lounge-esque track.

Rocker Keith Emerson composed and performed a number of soundtracks for European and Asian films in the early ’80s, yet few of those films ever reached American audiences, and most of the soundtracks made brief appearances in the import sections of record stores.

The music Emerson composed for this suspense/horror film features him almost exclusively on piano, backed by an orchestra conducted by Godfrey Salmon, building upon his main title theme. The keyboard selections are rather unremarkable, except for the finale, “Cigarettes, Ice, Etc.,” on which Emerson uses his full keyboard arsenal to excellent effect. Unfortunately, the choral segments sound rather pretentious and dated. This LP is more likely to appeal to those who wish to collect all of Emerson’s recorded works than to fans of Emerson, Lake & Palmer or soundtracks in general.

  • La Chiesa Original Soundtrack LP

“La Chiesa” (The Church) is a 1989 film, directed by Michele Soavi (who a few years later would be the director of the famous “Dellamorte Dellamore”, inspired by a Tiziano Sclavi’s novel and his comic book character Dylan Dog) and produced by the master of Italian horror Dario Argento, who also participated in the writing of the story and screenplay. As when it was released, the film elicits diametrically opposed reactions still today: some consider it a masterpiece of the genre, some others a poor product, the symbol of an era – we are in the late ’80s – of decline and lack of inspiration. The truth probably lies somewhere in between and “La Chiesa”, if we also consider that it was initially meant to be directed by Lamberto Bava, still defends itself very well, both from the visual and the musical point of view. The songs selected for this release are those composed by Keith Emerson and the Goblin, the latter being a pseudonym of the only Fabio Pignatelli. The result is a stylistically homogeneous soundtrack, in which classical, rock and electronic sounds are skillfully blended. Emerson, in particular, makes extensive use of a church organ, mindful of his work for Dario Argento’s film “Inferno” of a few years earlier (1980), while Pignatelli clearly shows his ‘goblinian’ soul, just updated by about a decade . Given that this is the first-ever vinyl reissue, this release is basically a must-have for the soundtrack collectors, especially in the horror genre, where Italy is synonymous with quality once again. It also includes the two tracks “Suspence chiesa 1” and “Suspence chiesa 2”, absent in the original 1989 LP.

  • The Prowler Original Soundtrack LP

Waxwork Records is thrilled to kick off 2019 with the deluxe vinyl release of THE PROWLER Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Richard Einhorn. Released in 1981, THE PROWLER is one of the earliest films to become part of the American-Slasher genre. It also features special effects by Tom Savini (Friday the 13th, Creepshow, Day Of The Dead) and was directed by Joseph Zito (Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter). The film’s music by Richard Einhorn (Shock Waves, Don’t Go In The House) introduces the composer’s departure from the primitive, monophonic synth scoring of his earlier work, and implements a blend of orchestral cues and mature electronic soundscapes. Waxwork Records worked with the composer to research and locate the master tapes that were thought to have been destroyed for decades. The tapes were restored, transferred, and the music was mixed, constructed into a cohesive soundtrack listening experience, and mastered specifically for vinyl. This special release is a must for fans of the horror genre.

THE PROWLER was released just one year after the critical success of FRIDAY THE 13TH, and has become one of the classic, underrated American-Slasher horror gems. The film is downright scary and features some of the most shocking death scenes of the entire horror movie genre due in part to the expertise of special effects mastermind, Tom Savini. The story tells of a group of college students holding a graduation dance 35 years after a double homicide occurred in their small town. They are targeted by a masked assailant dressed in World War II G.I. fatigues who begins a murderous spree.

This new, definitive double LP film score release of THE PROWLER features all of the film’s music composed by Richard Einhorn pressed to 180 gram Army Green Swirl with Rose Petal Red Splatter, new artwork by Ghoulish Gary Pullin, exclusive liner notes by director Joseph Zito, and a printed insert featuring Rosemary’s break-up letter.

  • Goblin Greatest Hits Vol. 2 (1979-2001) LP

The first Goblin’s Greatest Hits volume, released in mid-2020 and filled with the unprecedented masterpieces that made them famous worldwide as the masters of movie soundtrack makers, is now followed by this second chapter that wisely covers the second part of the band’s career. This is an era that is often less considered by music lovers and horror movies fans, but this LP is here also to remind the listener that there’s a lot to be rediscovered. This second volume is in fact even more diverse and eclectic than its predecessor, as it goes from classic-era Goblin sounds (Yell) to funk-rock (Funky Top), from romantic atmospheres (St. Helens) to the 80’s electronic vibrations (Sleepwalking, Tenebre, La Chiesa). To make this release even more special, the last two tracks on side B are presented for the first time as a new edit (La Chiesa) and a new suite (Nonhosonno – Killer On The Train – Arpeggio-End Title, from the comeback reunion of “Nonhosonno”, the film directed by Dario Argento in 2001)!

  • Herederos De La Bestia Original Soundtrack LP

OWS proudly presents the original soundtrack to ‘Herederos De La Bestia’ composed and performed by BUIO MONDO.

‘Herederos De La Bestia’ is documentary film about Álex de la Iglesia’s classic 1995 apocalypse-horror story ‘El Dia De La Bestia’ (The Day Of The Beast). More than two decades after its premiere, the movie continues to be THE great go-to example if you want to mix the most brutal fantastic with the Spanish tradition of the grotesque. Comprised of equal parts high-concept horror and scathing social satire (in the mode of the director’s peer and former collaborator Pedro Almodovar), this ambitious horror film has garnered a sizable cult following. It’s just impossible to imagine present-day Spanish cinema without it.

’Herederos De La Bestia’ interviews the crew responsible for Álex de la Iglesia’s masterpiece and assesses its still relevant influence. Part of the official 2016 Sitges festival selection, this superb documentary is currently still being screened at festivals around the world.

It’s no surprise that the makers turned to the Spanish outfit ‘Buio Mondo’ to underscore their hard work. Buio Mondo is a project that pays tribute to the giallo and the slasher genres and is best known for their previous (and very successful) album ‘Italia Violenta’. Mixing wild metal riffs, powerful electronics and dark brooding ‘Carpenter-esque’ synth atmospheres results in a nightmarish soundscape that will haunt you in your dreams.

Presented here is the COMPLETE & EXTENDED score to ‘Herederos De La Bestia’. Available as a 10” vinyl edition limited to 666 copies (with obi strip). 333 units on classic black vinyl & 333 units color vinyl (red & black swirl vinyl).

  • Possessor Original Soundtrack LP

Brandon Cronenberg’s POSSESSOR is one of the year’s best genre films. If you can handle its face-melting violence, then you are in for a visual and sonic treat.

It’s a visceral and unflinching assault on the senses that centers around Tanya Vos, a skilled corporate assassin. Using highly classified technology, she enters the minds of unsuspecting victims, hijacking their brains and bodies to carry out brutal murders without getting blood on her hands. As untraceable as she is, her memory and mind begin to fuse with her hosts’. As her sanity unravels, the stage is set for a blistering and brutal showdown.

Jim Williams delivers an incredible and singular piece of work scoring Brandon Cronenberg’s POSSESSOR. The soundtrack is a sonic journey through a fractured mind, much like the film melds the organic and the artificial to stunning effect. Dreamy and ominous synths weave otherworldly textures as violas, violins, and discordant choral vocals converge to create something quite spectacular and terrifying.

As with the best scores, it’s one that rewards with repeat listens. At first, you would be forgiven for thinking it’s a very straightforward and moody score, but the hidden depth and layers reveal themselves on repeated listens. A couple of tracks have an almost abstract jazz feel to them under the dissonance and noise. Overall this is a stunning piece of work and one that requires your full time and attention.

  • Buio Omega Original Soundtrack LP

Joe D’Amato’s 1979 gorefest Buio Omega (Beyond the Darkness) concerns a local taxidermist Frank and his dead fiancée, unable to cope with his loss he of course digs up his deceased girlfriend and preserves and stuffs her. This (obviously) doesn’t sit well with his housekeeper who is secretly in love with Frank, from here on in things get even more bizarre and gruesome as Frank tries to find a replacement for his ex to no avail. As bodies pile up (and get broken down in acid baths) the local police get suspicious and it all comes to a head for Frank and his housekeeper. Buio Omega is an absolutely outrageous slice of Italian sleaze and recommended to those only with the strongest of stomachs!

Goblin supplied the score to Buio Omaga and they really helped elevate the film. Synthesizers soar and drums rattle and the score is a funk filled masterpiece far better than the film probably deserves! We are thrilled to bring the full score on vinyl straight from the original masters and we have loaded it with unreleased tracks/takes & stingers from the AMS/Cinevox vaults!

  • Ganja & Hess (Original 1973 Motion Picture Soundtrack) (RSD 2018 EXCLUSIVE)

Strange Disc Records proudly presents the original soundtrack to one of THE groundbreaking films of African American cinema, Ganja & Hess (1973).

Ganja & Hess is a seminal work of African American cinema, flirting with the conventions of blaxploitation and horror cinema, Bill Gunn’s revolutionary independent film is a highly stylized and utterly original treatise on sex, religion, and African American identity. Starring Duane Jones (Night Of The Living Dead) & Marlene Clark (Midnight Cowboy, Enter The Dragon) as the leading roles.

Ganja & Hess was honored as one of the ten best American films of its decade by the Cannes Film Festival but was barely distributed to American audiences. Commissioned at a time when ‘blaxploitation’ movies like ‘Shaft’ played as blockbusters in African American neighborhoods, it was suppressed in the United States because it did not turn out to be the Hollywood genre film the producers intended, so Ganja & Hess was withdrawn when Gunn went beyond the vampire genre and turned in an original product.

The original cut was donated to the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) whose restoration work & screenings helped build the film’s reputation as a neglected classic of independent African American cinema. The restored version later received a superior DVD & Blu Ray release through Kino Lorber and in 2014 the film was remade by Spike Lee as ‘Da Sweet Blood of Jesus’.

The soundtrack to this exceptional film was composed Sam Waymon, a creative legend who has contributed to local, national and world culture. Born in North Carolina, Sam Waymon began his musical odyssey playing along with his sister, Eunice. His sister left North Carolina in the ’50s and traveled north to pursue her career. Along the way she
dropped her given name and became one of music’s most influential and independent musicians, known as Nina Simone.

Sam performed with and wrote music for his sister for over ten years but finally broke away to develop a style of his own that combines gospel, R&B, blues and jazz. Sam went on to record for record labels like: RCA, Polygram, and his own label Resolution records. He has worked side by side with legendary artists such as Miles Davis, Donnie Hathaway, Roberta Flack, The 5th dimension, and the list goes on and on.

Even more haunting than the film is its music, Sam Waymon created an innovative, ahead-of-its-time mixture of soul, tribal chants, gospel and trippy, dissonant experimental cues that makes for the strangest score for a vampire film.

Now, for the FIRST TIME ON VINYL (or on any format) Strange Disc records proudly presents a deluxe color vinyl edition (with insert containing exclusive liner notes & rare photographic materials) exclusively for Record Store Day 2018. Curated and supervised by composer Sam Waymon himself, this release is strictly limited to 1000 copies worldwide & available in participating stores on 4/21.
